(1) The World is Your Oyster: Podcasting for Personalized Learning
Podcasting is a great way to engage in professional metacognition and gives students authentic writing opportunities that can be shared with an authentic audience. Whether you are new to podcasts or you love them and have been waiting to get started, this is the session for you. Join Jen Giffen of #ShukesAndGiff The Podcast to learn about podcasting - from what to listen to for inspiration, to name picking, to logo design, to ways to record & launch. We will share our successes and challenges. No fancy equipment, no costs, just an idea, and some passion. You and your students will be ready to start recording tomorrow!

(2) Tell Me a Story: Ignite Talks to Captivate an Audience
20 slides that automatically advance every 15 seconds each = Ignite Awesomeness! Shorter than TED talks and similar to Pecha Kucha presentations, Ignite talks get students thinking about concise ways to deliver a message and how to choose graphics to support their ideas. In this workshop, we will explore how the power of storytelling can captivate an audience and showcase deep student understanding.

Sketchnoting about ideas, not art and it is a great way to increase retention, improve memory, synthesize information, and focus on big ideas. Come join a hands-on session for beginner sketchnoters where we see how easy it can be and the benefits for your students.
